Members of the travel industry are preparing for possible repercussions of the partial government shutdown on their operations. Travel agencies that cater to government clients are working to ensure that ongoing government trips are completed smoothly while preparing for a drop in business if the shutdown drags on. "We are awaiting word from these [government] agencies on whether they will shut down and keep employees home. These agencies are funded for travel but if they send employees home, they will not be traveling," said Arthur Salus, whose company, Duluth Travel Inc., earns 65% of total business volume from government travel.
