Army awards investment agreements to helicopter firms

Sikorsky, AVX Aircraft, Bell Helicopter Textron and Karem Aircraft all have been signed to technology investment agreements with the Army as part of the development of helicopters that will eventually replace the Apache and Black Hawk. The companies will have nine months to develop designs for the new vertical-lift helicopters, after which two teams will build the aircraft for testing.
