Asian shares advance warily on Chinese data, U.S. debt imbroglio

A favorable reading on the health of China's services sector helped lift shares across Asia on Thursday although investors continued to monitor the U.S. debt drama. "People are still optimistic about China's economy. Having said that, we are waiting on results of fiscal talks in the U.S., which is the biggest uncertainty," said Benjamin Tam, a portfolio manager in Hong Kong for IG Investment.
