Calif. pharmacists gain broader role as providers

A new law allows pharmacists in California to initiate, adjust and terminate patients' medications under a physician's supervision, physically examine patients, refer patients to health care providers, order and interpret laboratory tests, and evaluate and manage patients' health in collaboration with other health care providers.
