Making discharge instructions available to patients on their mobile devices has led to higher patient satisfaction and a 15% drop in 30-day readmissions at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Ala. Chief nursing officer Cheryl Bailey says patient pick-up rates of the information range from 50% to 80% and reviewing staff recordings of the discharge instructions can help ensure quality.
