Intel launches program to inspire "makers"

Intel and open-source hardware platform Arduino plan to provide 50,000 new Galileo development boards to 1,000 universities. The initiative is aimed at the educational and "maker" communities. "I've been a 'maker' for many years and am passionate about the exciting possibilities of technology and what can be created with it," Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said.
