LTE a competitor to satellite in on-board connectivity industry

By 2017, 43% of all commercial planes will contain on-board broadband service, compared to just 17.5% that did at the end of 2012, a new IDATE report states. The report also says that LTE (long term evolution) connectivity will give satellite technology a run for its money by 2016; LTE technology will attain up to 30 Mbps in speed.
