Policy statement addresses culturally effective care, workforce diversity

Pediatricians should lead in promoting a workplace environment that is racially, ethnically and culturally diverse, the AAP said in a policy statement published in the journal Pediatrics. In addition to supporting culturally effective health care, pediatricians should advocate affirmative action initiatives and the creation of programs targeting underrepresented medical students, the group said.
