School meal funding is uncertain amid government shutdown

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently notified school officials in Clark County, Nev., that reimbursements for federally subsidized meals will be delayed because of the federal government shutdown. The district has about a month of reserve funds in its account, but if the government shutdown extends beyond that, it will need to seek additional funding. In an Alabama district, officials say their funding has been allotted through the end of the year and they believe they are fine until then.
