Shutdown quashes hopes of sequester fix

Defense firms are seeing hopes of a halt to sequestration disappear as lawmakers' attention focuses on the shutdown and impending debt ceiling deadline. "There are three vehicles we can fix sequester with: the [continuing resolution], the debt ceiling and the omnibus [spending bill]," said one long-time defense lobbyist. "Right now the train is leaving the station for the first two."
