Shutdown shutters CFTC amid SEF launch

The government shutdown has shuttered much of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's operations, right as CFTC-mandated swap-execution facilities go live this week. "It has been difficult to get answers the last couple of days because of the shutdown," ISDA CEO Robert Pickel said. "People can make their own decisions on whether or not to trade, but they leave themselves open to second-guessing further down the road."
