Pfizer says long-term studies show no heart risk from Celebrex

The drugmaker said it is confident its painkiller does not have the heart health issues brought forward in the recall of Merck's Vioxx because routine monitoring of three long-term studies has not shown any cardiovascular risk. Ongoing trials contain information on more than 6,000 people taking Celebrex, a placebo or pain relief medicine naproxen.
