Most Michigan teachers meet NCLB standards

About 94% of Michigan teachers in core classes now comply with federal "highly qualified" standards, although the state's largest teachers union doubts the true number is that high. The state will begin spot-checking districts next spring to ensure teachers are correctly counted.
