Pregnant, breast-feeding moms should eat fish, study suggests

Pregnant and breast-feeding women should consume at least 12 ounces of fish and seafood per week to ensure the full development of their babies' brains, according to scientists from private groups and federal agencies. The findings, however do not agree with FDA's 2001 standard advice, which states that consumption of fish and seafood by child-bearing women and new mothers should not exceed 12 ounces per week because of fears of possible mercury contamination.
