Report points finger at World Bank on DRC deforestation

The World Bank supported improper logging in the Democratic Republic of Congo's vast rain forest, the world's second biggest, says a new report by an independent inspection panel. The panel's investigation followed complaints by 12 local Pygmy groups that the Bank indirectly threatened their lives by encouraging logging activities by foreign companies. The Bank's board is expected to discuss the report within weeks.
