New FAA programs give a lift to commercial space flight

The FAA has launched two new programs in recent months to assist in knowledge sharing as the commercial spaceflight industry moves ahead. The programs include a new lessons-learned database for the private space transportation industry and commercial spaceflight issues, and the new Air Transportation Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation, a consortium of industry, academia and government agencies led by New Mexico State University.
