Trans-fat consumption while nursing increases body fat in infants

Nursing mothers who ate more than 4.5 grams of trans fat daily were at twice the risk of having infants with body fat greater than 24%, a study found. Infants breast-fed exclusively had higher body fat percentages than those on a mixed diet of breast milk and formula, researchers said.
