Gov. Brown raises the bar for California's green building standards

CALGreen, also known as AB 930, sponsored by California Assemblyman Rich Gordon, was signed into law last week by Gov. Jerry Brown. The law requires the California Building Standards Commission to have one member "experienced and knowledgeable in sustainable building, design, construction, and operation." The commission enforces the state's building codes, which were made more green as of Jan. 1, 2011.
