Study: Buckwheat sugar helps lower glucose levels in mice

A study in the British Journal of Nutrition revealed a dose-dependent glucose lowering effect of D-fagomine, a sugar extract from buckwheat, in tested mice. Experts said combining 1 to 2 milligrams of D-fagomine for every kilogram of body weight along with 1 gram of sucrose helped reduce blood glucose levels in mice by 20%.
