FDA, Alere reach agreement on heart diagnostic test

Alere has reached a deal with the FDA on product specifications regarding the manufacture of Triage, its test for diagnosing heart attacks and other critical conditions. The deal with the FDA is expected to result in reduced yields of the Triage tests, but Alere said it will increase its production of the assays to 3.3 million per month to satisfy demand.
