Retail's real estate recovery shows signs of a stall

The vacancy rate for large regional retail centers dropped to 8.7% from 8.9% in the second quarter, Reis reports. However, neighborhood shopping centers saw their recovery stall as retail sales stagnated. "There's not a lot of momentum here. We still have a weak economy, weak labor markets," said Ryan Severino, Reis senior economist.
