50 workers needed to install roof trusses, roofing system at Pa. arena

Installation of seven, 236-foot-long roof trusses and a roofing system has started at the $177 million PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. The trusses weigh from 125,000 pounds to 212,000 pounds and will be lifted by three large cranes onto the stadium. The roof, made of steel decking, insulation and rubberized membrane, will be expanded onto each truss as they are put in place. Fifty workers will take part in the job.
