ASTA turns to national media to promote agents' value

ASTA has taken a number of steps recently to inform consumers about the service provided by the travel agent industry. The trade group was instrumental in the release of an article on Women's Daily touting agents' ability to find travel deals, in the wake of an earlier article in the publication painting the industry in a negative light. ASTA also highlighted agents' importance through an appearance on "CBS This Morning" by USA Today business-travel correspondent Charisse Jones. "[T]here's more work to be done, especially at the grassroots level," said ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby. "We encourage all members to participate in spreading the word, be it a blog, local newspaper or radio show."
