Commercial-scale carbon-capture facility breaks ground in Texas

Work has begun on the country's first commercial-scale carbon-capture plant that will convert greenhouse gases into commercial-grade sodium bicarbonate and other "green chemicals." The $120 million facility is being built near the Capitol Aggregates cement plant in San Antonio from which it will capture emissions. "[I]t's the first attempt at mineralising carbon in a way that is commercially viable and carbon negative," writes Michael Parker.
