Consider a job at a smaller organization

Job seekers should consider employment with smaller organizations, where they may be given more significant assignments or be able to create or build a new position, writes Lorra M. Brown, a public relations professor at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J. "Experience at a smaller organization may be more meaningful than a first job at a more prestigious place of employment," she writes. Brown also suggests that job seekers network and spread the word about their search and remember to proofread all job queries.
