DOL's Borzi: Commissions won't be banned by fiduciary rule

The U.S. Labor Department's proposed fiduciary rule won't bar advisers from selling products that generate commissions, said Phyllis Borzi of the Employee Benefits Security Administration. The final proposal may permit "potentially problematic, conflicted" transactions if they are properly disclosed, Borzi said.
