The growing sparkling-wine trend among U.S. consumers is benefiting and increasing opportunity across the entire category, says Gloria Ferrer's vice president of marketing, Eva Bertran. "Sparkling wine went from a peak of 18 million cases in the 1980s down as low as 12 million cases. Now consumers are coming back to bubbly -- across all styles -- and we're near the 18-million mark again," said Betran. She also said Freixenet USA is rolling out new packaging and a new line of nonvintage Blanc de Blancs to take advantage of the growing market.
