High school in Mass. observes LGBTQ month

Framingham High School in Massachusetts is officially recognizing the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people by observing LGBTQ History Month in October. The school's Gay/Straight Alliance, which has about 40 student members, is sharing short video vignettes about notable LGBTQ figures, who teachers are encouraged to mention in relevant courses. The effort was approved by the school board and is supported by principal Mike Welch and Superintendent Stacy Scott, who added that he is "glad to further strengthen the fabric of our community."
