SEC's White pushes against congressional interference

Mary Jo White, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, says Congress has overstepped its bounds with recent directives to her agency regarding mining safety and conflict minerals. White says the rules "seem more directed at exerting societal pressure on companies to change behavior, rather than to disclose financial information that primarily informs investment decisions."
