Recess before lunch offers many benefits

Researchers and school officials find that children who have recess before lunch subsequently eat their meals less hurriedly, experience fewer stomachaches and are calmer when classes resume. Several schools in Arizona are scheduling recess before lunch, although they're finding it hard to buck such an ingrained tradition.
