Kansas chooses lawyer as next schools chief

The Kansas Board of Education on Tuesday tapped lawyer Bob Corkins, the director of a conservative-leaning think tank, to become the state's next education commissioner. Corkins, who was selected over four others with classroom and administrative experience, touted his knowledge of state politics and laws as strengths he'll bring to the job.
