Program promotes stake of minority men in education of children

The Chicago nonprofit Black Star Project has launched a yearlong effort to involve more minority fathers in their children's schools. At Amistad Academy in New Haven, Conn., a few dozen fathers, grandfathers and uncles meet teachers one morning and bask in applause at an emotional morning assembly in their honor.
