Gender assumptions linger, despite influx of women gamers

As the number of women gamers continues to increase, some women are wondering when women will stop being viewed as being outside the gaming mainstream. "There is a preconceived notion that you will feel out of place," Kirsten Kearney, a games industry journalist and a promoter of women gamers, said, "but that isn't borne out by women who are actually playing games."
