Early weight gain raises child's metabolic risk factors

Researchers said young children who gain more weight relative to height have higher metabolic risk factors by age 4 than their slimmer peers. This is important because those risk factors can translate into a predisposition for chronic diseases, including as diabetes and lipids disorders, the researchers said.
