EEOC sees 23% jump in employer-retaliation claims

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is seeing more employees filing claims that they were fired as a means of retaliation. These claims increased 23% for the year that ended Sept. 30, 2008. "Retaliation is really the No. 1 risk for employers today," said Joseph Beachboard, a management-side lawyer at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart.
