ImThera gets EU approval for sleep apnea device trial

ImThera Medical received approval from the EU to conduct in early 2010 a 12-patient study of a device designed to treat obstructive sleep apnea. Called aura6000, the system uses implantable electrodes that electrically stimulate tongue muscles to keep the tongue from blocking the upper airway.
