Report: Biotech firms see increase in venture funding in Q2

Venture capital firms invested $888 million in U.S. private biotech companies during the second quarter, up 54% from the same period in 2008, according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. Industry executives say the increase in investor confidence toward the biotech sector is driven by the stock market's increase this year and the federal stimulus program.
