Teacher evaluations in Ga. district to measure thinking, engagement

Administrators in a Georgia district will soon use a tool to evaluate teachers that will analyze the "level of thinking, student engagement, instructional role of teacher, communication of learning goals and instructional mode of the lesson being taught" in the classroom. Jefferson City Schools System officials say their goal is to improve teaching and learning, and they hope the method eventually is used by teachers to evaluate their peers.
