Thyroid tests for pregnant women reduce adverse outcomes

Researchers said universal screening and treating "low risk" pregnant women for thyroid disease leads to a decrease in adverse outcomes, compared with case finding. Their study found treating pregnant women with thyroid problems during their first trimesters was better for mother and child.
