Defense Department awards $2.4M research grant to Wright Medical

The Department of Defense has awarded a $2.4 million grant to Wright Medical Group to help it conduct a clinical trial to test the efficacy of the medical device firm's Osteoset T bone-graft substitute in treating battlefield-related wounds. Wright could file a premarket application with the FDA if the surgical grade calcium sulfate-based product performs well in the study.
