Dow Chemical garners industry award for pioneering safety systems

The National Safety Council has recognized Dow Chemical's advances in health, safety and environmental consciousness by honoring the company with the Robert W. Campbell Award. Dow started a program in 1996 to reduce injuries and illnesses within its workforce, as well as minimize accidents in chemical transportation and plant operations. Such recognition inspires Dow to be an industry leader in safety and "is going to help people aspire to our systems," said Michael R. Gambrell, executive vice president for Dow's manufacturing and engineering operations.
