HHS awarded $473 million for patient-centered outcomes research in multiple areas, including drug and device effectiveness, dissemination of findings, patient registry development, and researcher training and career development. "The findings of this research also will strengthen our health care system by ensuring that the care that is delivered is based on the best possible evidence and informed decisions," AHRQ Director Dr. Carolyn M. Clancy said.
