TARP overseer calls the program troubling yet successful

Herbert Allison, who oversaw the Troubled Asset Relief Program as an assistant Treasury secretary, explains that it's understandable that TARP is a dirty word among voters and politicians. However, he also notes that the program was necessary and, in the end, successful. "TARP has proven remarkably successful at stabilizing the economy and laying the foundation for future growth," Allison writes.
