Facebook, Twitter make pitch to marketers

Twitter and Facebook executives were at advertising industry events Tuesday to pitch their services to marketers and advertisers. Facebook's global advertising chief, David Fischer, said the network's new Timeline and sharing features will give marketers new ways to target and engage consumers. Twitter revenue chief Adam Bain said his site now has 1,600 advertisers and an 80% advertiser-retention rate.
