High-end brands fare best by focusing on quality, core buyers

Luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Burberry have performed well during the recession because they kept the focus on high-quality items aimed at their core market of affluent shoppers and invested in their digital extensions, according to Interbrand. Both luxury labels, along with Gucci, Hermes, Armani, Cartier and Tiffany & Co. ranked on Interband's list of the top 100 global brands.
