Rumors roil RIM amid speculation that it hired banker

Investors bid up Research In Motion's shares Tuesday on increased speculation that the BlackBerry maker has retained an investment banker to explore its options as RIM's market share continues to shrink. "It's looking less and less likely that they can make the turnaround on their own," said analyst Tavis McCourt of Morgan Keegan. RIM is also coming under increasing pressure at home: Canada's Rogers Communications has joined with a mobile-device management firm to enable companies to send secure messages over Apple and Android devices.
