FCC chief: We're on track to free up 300 MHz by 2015

The head of the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday explained how the government will meet its 2015 deadline to provide 300 MHz of wireless spectrum for broadband services. In a speech, Julius Genachowski said regulators were taking steps that the carriers had requested, such as the licensing of AWS-2 H-block frequencies, ahead of an auction of Advanced Wireless Spectrum.
