San Diego Zoo's new panda cub developing normally, veterinarians say

The San Diego Zoo's 9-week-old male panda cub is increasingly responsive and appears to be developing normally, according to veterinarians who conducted an exam this week. His eyes have opened, and his weight is similar to that of other cubs born at the zoo. Zoo staff said the cub's mother will increasingly work to develop his sensory capabilities through grooming and moving him to new settings.
