Students post gains on S.C. history exams

The biggest gains on South Carolina's end-of-course exams during the 2012-13 school year were seen on the U.S. history and constitution tests, according to the state's Department of Education. An education official, Scott English, said history tests in the past have been among the harder tests for students to pass and attributes the high scores to "increased knowledge of the curriculum standards and improvement in classroom instruction."
