Study reinforces bad news about estrogen-progestin pill therapy

Researchers said those pills double the chances of postmenopausal women developing dangerous blood clots, with the risk increasing even more for overweight patients and those over the age of 60. Researchers reached to their conclusion after looking more closely at data from the Women's Health Initiative study, which initially pointed to signs the combination raised the risk of deep vein thrombosis.
